inp.polri.go.id - Padang. Vice Chairman of Commission III of Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) Ahmad Sahroni gave his appreciation and praise to the program of West Sumatra Regional Police Inspector General Tri Suryanta and the Head of the West Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office Yuni Daru Winarsih for its humanistic nature.

He said this after conducting a working visit and holding a meeting with the heads of law enforcement agencies at the West Sumatra Police Office on Wednesday (28/5).

He said the two programs in question were the "Gerakan Shubuh Berjamaah" belonging to the West Sumatra Regional Police Chief, and the "Jaksa Mengajar" belonging to the West Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office.

"Gerakan Shubuh Berjamaah" is a program initiated by Inspector General Gatot Tri Suryanta since mid-January 2025.

Through this program, the two-star general invites police personnel to go to various mosques at dawn to get closer to the people of West Sumatra.

Gatot views the mosque not only as a place of worship, but also a center of civilization to seek knowledge and life as has been practiced by the Minangkabau people in the past.

Meanwhile, "Jaksa Mengajar" is a program that was first launched by the West Sumatra High Prosecutor Yuni Daru Winarsih and her Deputy Sugeng Hariadi in December 2024.

Yuni Daru Winarsih explained that Jaksa Mengajar is actually a teaching charity given by the Prosecutor to the younger generation for free.

In its implementation, the Prosecutor visits schools that are the targets of the program to provide legal education and national insight directly.

This program is carried out as additional lesson hours for students, so that it does not interfere with the formal teaching and learning process that exists in each school.

Sahroni considered both programs positively as they could bring law enforcement officers directly to the community. He saw that law enforcement officers must be present amidst the community in order to understand the conditions and environment of their own community.
