Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Defense is set to partner with Japan to enhance its national capabilities in space and cyber defense after the visit of Japan’s Joint Staff Chief General Yoshida Yoshihide to Jakarta on Friday (25/4/2025).

“Japan, which formed its space operation squadron in 2020, has become a mature operator in the space domain,” said Brigadier General Frega Ferdinand Wenas Inkiriwang,the Ministry of Defense’ Head of Information, emphasizing the value of learning from Japan’s advanced defense strategies and technologies.

Through this cooperation, Indonesia aims to develop its expertise in space operations and cyber defense, aligning with global standards and reinforcing national security. The initiative is also considered a strategic step toward deepening Indonesia–Japan bilateral relations in the defense sector.
