Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.   Indonesia and Peru have strengthened cooperation in combating narcotics trafficking through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between Indonesia’s National Narcotics Agency (BNN) and Peru’s National Commission for Development and Life Without Drugs.

The MoU covers technical collaboration to eradicate illicit production, preparation, and trade of narcotics, psychotropic substances, and precursors, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday(11/8/2025). It was part of a joint declaration marking 50 years of diplomatic relations between the two nations.

The declaration also included an MoU between Indonesia’s Agricultural Quarantine Agency (BKI) and Peru’s SENASA on sanitary and phytosanitary certification, as well as a commitment to expand technical cooperation through agreements between both foreign ministries.

Peru’s President Dina Boluarte met President Prabowo Subianto at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Monday, in her first official visit to Indonesia since diplomatic ties were established.
