Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Tanjung Priok Port Sub-regional Police are investigating the cause of a fire aboard state-owned PT Pelni’s KM Dorolonda ship, which occurred at PT Dok & Perkapalan Kodja Bahari’s (PT DKB) Jakarta 1 shipyard in North Jakarta.

“There are no casualties in this incident, and the investigation is ongoing,” said Assistant Senior Inspector I Gusti Ngurah Putu Krishna Narayana, the Head of Criminal Investigation at the Tanjung Priok Port Police, on Monday (11/8/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com. 

The police will conduct an on-site investigation in the coming days.

Witness statements indicate the fire started on decks 5 and 6, which are areas typically used for passenger seating and small vendors. At the time of the incident, no passengers were on board, only maintenance workers and standby crew.

PT Pelni Corporate Secretary Evan Eryanto said that the fire broke out while the vessel was undergoing annual maintenance at DKB. 

“Our focus is to support DKB’s firefighting efforts and minimise damage,” he said. 

DKB, as the dock operator, is leading fire suppression with local firefighting teams.
