Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia and Switzerland strengthened bilateral economic cooperation through the 11th Joint Economic and Trade Commission (JETC) in Jakarta on Tuesday, the Indonesian Embassy in Bern said Tuesday (30/9/2025).
The meeting comes ahead of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
“The JETC is a strategic momentum to enhance trade and investment at a time of global uncertainty, given the significant potential both countries hold,” the embassy said in a statement.
The talks were co-chaired by Indonesian Foreign Ministry official Daniel Tumpal Simanjuntak and Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) official Andrea Rauber Saxer.
Discussions covered healthcare and pharmaceutical technology, critical mineral processing, green infrastructure, and trade expansion under the Indonesia-EFTA Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and the Indonesia-Swiss Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT).
Trade reached USD3.14 billion in the first half of 2025, with Indonesia posting a surplus of USD2.5 billion in 2024. Swiss investment hit USD244.9 million last year, making it Indonesia’s second-largest European investor.
