Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Army will increase military cooperation with the Singapore Army in a bid to enhance national defense capabilities and strengthen bilateral relations.
The renewed commitment was underscored during a courtesy visit by Brigadier General Tan Cheng Kwee, the Chief of Staff (General Staff) of the Singapore Army, to Lieutenant General Tandyo Budi, the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army, at the Indonesian Army headquarters on Tuesday (26/2/2025).
According to an official press release, the discussions focused on key areas such as joint military exercises, soldier exchange programs for educational purposes, and plans to develop a shared military training zone.
Deputy Chief Tandyo highlighted the importance of careful planning for the joint training area, ensuring that all processes align with government regulations.
“The Indonesian Army fully supports any decision made by the Government, particularly those from the Ministry of Defense,” he affirmed.
While the initiative marks a significant step in defense cooperation, specific details regarding the timeline and location for the joint training facility remain undisclosed.
