Downpour Triggers Flood in East Aceh, Police Personnel Dispatched for Evacuation Effort

inp.polri.go.id - East Aceh. Several areas in East Aceh Regency have been hit by another rain, resulting in several villages being inundated. This incident has drawn serious attention from the East Aceh Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Irwan Kurniadi, who directly monitored the affected areas, including Alue Ie Mirah Village, Indra Makmur District, on Thursday (1/8/2026).

Accompanied by several senior officials and the Commander of the Mobile Brigade Corps (BKO) Regiment I Kedung Halang, Second Police Inspector Samsul, Chief Irwan waded through floodwaters.

On this occasion, Irwan and team brought evacuation equipment, such as rubber boats and canoes (fiber boats).

The Police Chief urged the public to remain vigilant and to inform the police if the situation becomes dire.

"Moderate to heavy rain is still falling. We urge people to be vigilant and if they need assistance or help, please immediately notify the police so we can send help quickly," said Chief Irwan.

Several areas within the jurisdiction of the East Aceh Police Department have been affected by the aftershocks, including Indra Makmur, Ranto Peureulak, Simpang Ulim, Madat, Pantee Bidari, and Julok.
