Inp.polri.go.id - Johor Bahru. The Indonesian Consulate General in Johor Bahru has facilitated the deportation of 100 Indonesian citizens, mainly migrant workers, from Malaysia’s Kemayan Immigration Detention Depot in Pahang.
“They consisted of 64 men, 31 women, and five boys,” said Jati Heri Winarto, the Head of the Consulate's Protection Task Force, as quoted by antaranews.com on Saturday (28/6/2025).
The repatriation was supported by Malaysian immigration authorities. The group departed from Pasir Gudang International Port, Johor, and arrived at Batam Centre Port, Indonesia, where they were received by local immigration and health authorities and taken to a temporary shelter for further processing.
The repatriation is part of a bilateral plan to deport 7,200 Indonesians over two years. To date, the Consulate has assisted 3,007 deportees, including 951 through Malaysia’s “Program M.”
Winarto urged Indonesians to follow legal migration procedures to avoid legal violations and detention.
