Inp.polri.go.id - Tokyo. The Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo has urged Indonesian citizens planning to live, work, or study in Japan to respect local laws, customs, and social norms.
“Mutual respect is essential, not only between governments but also among the people,” said Muhammad Al Aula, the Coordinator of the Embassy’s Information, Social, and Cultural Affairs, in a phone interview with antaranews.com on Thursday (17/7/2025).
He emphasized that Indonesians must prepare thoroughly, especially by achieving at least an N4 level in the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT), and reviewing all employment contracts carefully before signing.
Aula also encouraged Indonesians in Japan to build positive relationships with locals, focus on their main goals, and uphold Indonesia’s good reputation.
The Embassy maintains regular communication with Indonesian communities in Japan through its outreach forums, which serve as platforms for guidance, education, and legal reminders.
