inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police recorded that the volume of travellers on the fourth day of "Ketupat Operation 2021" to prevent the Eid al-Fitr homecoming at 381 insulation points from Lampung to Bali has overturned 104,370 units of vehicles indicated to homecoming. Preventive action to date has turned these 104,370 vehicles into a part of preventing homecoming activities. Head of Public Information Bureau, Indonesian National Police, said the Indonesian National Police and Operation Ketupat is a public order security operation, which aims to create a sense of security in the implementation of Ramadan worship and the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 2021. Another goal is to prevent community activities that will carry out homecoming and prevent people from contracting COVID-19 because until now, Indonesia is still categorized as a pandemic state of COVID-19. In the "Ketupat operation", the number of personnel involved nationally was 166,734, consisting of 94,170 Police personnel and 13,332 Army personnel; the rest were related agencies such as the Transportation Agency, as well as potential in the community. Head of Public Information Bureau said that the police's blocking efforts followed the Covid-19 Control Task Force Circular No.13 of 2021. Police officers, together with other agencies, are trying to optimally prevent people from going home because they are still in a pandemic condition which risks increasing the number of cases due to homecoming. The Indonesian National Police appealed for public awareness not to go home this year because it is still a COVID-19 pandemic. This year's homecoming prohibition reflects the experience of Eid Al-Fitr 2020, where the number of positive confirmed cases increased by 93 per cent, and the death rate was 63 per cent after going home. The blocking operation for the homecoming prohibition was carried out at 381 points for 24 hours; if there are officers who do not carry out the isolation according to the rules, it is considered to have violated discipline. "So the isolation is carried out 24 hours. If there are members who do not carry out their duties, it is a disciplinary violation," concluded Head of Public Information Bureau, Indonesian National Police
