Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries confirmed that 41 shrimp processing units (UPIs) in Java and Lampung placed on the US “Yellow List” can still export to the United States under conditional requirements following the Cesium-137 contamination issue.
“Those under the Yellow List only need an additional certificate declaring their products free from radioactive substances, issued by our ministry as the Certifying Entity,” said Ishartini, the Head of the Fishery Product Quality Control and Supervision Agency, on Thursday (6/11/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
She said the ministry has strengthened its radioactive scanning and certification systems with the Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (Bapeten) and the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).
The ministry also targets 200 shrimp containers to be exported this month, worth Rp 160 billion, restoring market confidence after the temporary ban caused by the Cesium-137 alert.
