Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia now processes trademark registrations faster than the U.S., China, and several other advanced economies, Minister of Law and Human Rights Supratman Andi Agtas said in a statement on Sunday (18/5/2025).
“Indonesia is on par with developed nations in terms of trademark registration speed,” he said. “There is no more backlog, and we are meeting our six-month service target.”
The process in Indonesia takes a maximum of six months, compared to 12 months in the U.S. and China, seven in South Korea, and up to nine in Singapore, as reported by antaranews.com.
Indonesia also offers significantly lower fees, charging Rp 1.8 million for regular applicants and pR 500,000 for micro, small and medium enterprises —far below the U.S. rate of Rp 8.2 million.
The minister said this affordability encourages legal protection for creative works, particularly among small businesses.
