inp.polri.go.id - Riau. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo inspected the preparedness for handling forest and land fires in Riau. The inspection involved aerial monitoring of hotspots using a helicopter.
"I saw that the hotspots are still there, so we're using water bombing and modifying the Fire and Rescue Management System (TMC)," General Sigit explained on Thursday (7/24/2025).
General Sigit explained that the forest and land fire response has been carried out extensively, in coordination with relevant cross-sectoral agencies. He emphasized that a rapid response to forest and land fires is crucial.
"Indeed, several efforts have been made from the beginning, including prevention, education, outreach, and of course, efforts to continuously activate our applications for continuous monitoring and, of course, we hope for a rapid response when hotspots are detected," General Sigit stated.
According to General Sigit, the Indonesian National Military (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (INP), and other relevant elements have utilized their available firefighting equipment in extinguishing the forest and land fires. General Sigit emphasized the importance of preventing additional hotspots.
"Therefore, it is certainly crucial to prevent any additional hotspots or fires, especially those that arise intentionally," said General Sigit.
