inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo expressed his deepest condolences on the passing of Meriyati Hoegeng Roeslani, the wife of the late General (Ret.) Hoegeng Iman Santoso.

The figure, affectionately known as Eyang Meri, passed away at the age of 100.

"I, as the Indonesian National Police Chief and the General Chairperson of Bhayangkari, on behalf of the entire police force and Bhayangkari family, express our deepest condolences on the passing of Mrs. Meriyati Roeslani Hoegeng, the beloved wife of the late General Hoegeng Iman Santoso," said General Sigit on Tuesday (2/3/2026).

According to him, INP have greatly missed Eyang Meri. She was considered not only a witness to history, but also a shining example for the police institution

"During her lifetime, she was a true inspiration to all police personnel to continue upholding the dignity of the institution," said Chief Sigit.

General Sigit expressed his hope that all of the deceased's services and good deeds would be accepted, and that she would be given the right place in the afterlife.
