inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Directorate of Protection of Women and Children (PPA) and Prevention and Prosecution of Human Trafficking (PPO) of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Indonesian National Police (INP) continues to strengthen its commitment to preventing violence against women, children, and vulnerable groups in the university environment through collaboration with the academic community.
The Director of PPA and PPO, Brigadier General Nurul Azizah said that campuses must be safe spaces that are free from all forms of violence and exploitation, both physical and digital.
"Today I stand not only as a representative of INP, but as part of a society that is optimistic about the future of a nation free from violence," said Nurul in a seminar entitled "Rise and Speak with the Academic Community" held at the State Islamic University (UIN) Maulana Malik Ibrahim, East Java, Wednesday (5/14/2025).
She emphasized that violence against women and children currently no longer recognizes the boundaries of private space, and even spreads to the digital realm and campuses. Several students have become victims of sexual violence and exploitation without them realizing it, including in online human trafficking schemes.
Through the national movement “Rise and Speak”, INP encourages cross-sector synergy to build inclusive public awareness that sides with victims, not only focusing on law enforcement.
“Let us make campuses the last bastion of civilization, a place where courage, justice, and concern grow,” she said.
Meanwhile, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Rector Zainuddin appreciated INP initiative in building collective awareness in higher education environments. He emphasized that campuses must be inclusive and safe spaces for all students.
"Violence should not be part of our lives, whether in class, dormitories, or digital spaces," said Zainuddin.
