Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) has inaugurated a series of strategic research centers at the Police Science College (STIK-PTIK), marking a major milestone in strengthening evidence-based policing and building a future-ready police education ecosystem.
Among the newly launched centers are the Center for Police Law Studies, the Center for Public Relations Studies, the Center for Pacific–Oceania Studies, and the Center for Police Human Resources Development. These units will serve as academic laboratories focusing on security research, policy analysis, media transparency, leadership development, digital forensics, and Indo-Pacific geopolitical studies.
INP Deputy Chief Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo said on Thursday (27/11/2025) that the new centers will reinforce the police’s intellectual foundation amid increasingly complex security challenges.
“We cannot let STIK–PTIK remain stagnant. With the right acceleration, it can evolve into a modern police university that produces strong scientific research and world-class police professionals,” he said, as reported by antaranews.com
INP Education and Training Agency Chief Commissioner General Chryshnanda Dwilaksana said that research must play a central role in policing reforms.
“These research centers are not just property of STIK, but belong to the entire policing ecosystem. With strong research and wide collaboration, we are preparing a smart, inclusive, and trusted police institution,” he asserted.
The INP has also expanded international academic cooperation with 43 domestic universities and several global policing institutions, including partnerships with New Zealand Police College and scholarship programs through LPDP to top universities worldwide.
