Inp.polri.go.id - East Flores. The Indonesian National Police (INP) has deployed field kitchens and mobile water treatment units to assist refugees affected by the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki in  East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

“We’ve received field kitchens and mobile water treatment units from the NTT, NTB, Bali, East Java, and Central Java police forces,” said East Flores Police Chief Superintendent Nyoman Putra Sandita in Larantuka on Saturday (16/11/2024).

The mobile units, which include water treatment equipment and kitchens, are stationed at several locations, including Post 1 Konga, Post Kobasoma, and Post Lewolaga. The water treatment units use advanced technology to provide clean drinking water, with the ability to generate 3,500 liters per day.

Since 9 November 2024, a Water Gen water treatment unit has been providing water to over 1,700 refugees in two camps, producing over 20,000 liters so far, according to antaranews.com.

“The community is very enthusiastic, and we hope this helps them in these challenging times,” said Brigadier Rainer Liberius Bria, who is in charge of the Watergen unit.
