inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Traffic Corps and Green SM Indonesia taxis held a training program to improve traffic safety and professionalism through enhancing taxi driver skills.

The Head of INP Traffic Corps, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, stated that the training, held at the Indonesia Safety Driving Center (ISDC) in North Serpong, South Tangerang, was an effort to ensure security, safety, order, and smooth traffic flow on the roads.

"This collaboration to improve driver skills is important because, regardless of the situation on the road, safety is crucial. Therefore, the INP Traffic Corps and the management of Green SM Indonesia are holding this training. This is part of improving driver professionalism, as this aspect of driving is crucial," explained Agus on Tuesday (5/19/2026).

He said drivers play a significant role in reducing traffic accidents. Agus hopes the training will improve traffic compliance and help achieve the zero accident target.

"Hopefully, with this training, drivers will be more aware to obey traffic laws, and continue to uphold professionalism in driving," he said.

Furthermore, the Traffic Corps Chief stated that they are also targeting training for 7,000 drivers initially as an effort to improve their driving skills.

"Professional driving skills certainly play a key role in reducing traffic accident rate, even enabling us to achieve zero accidents. This is what is expected because one of the main duties of the police, especially the Traffic Corps, is to ensure safe, secure, orderly, and smooth traffic," explained the Traffic Corps Chief.

Meanwhile, Green SM Indonesia Managing Director Deny Tjia appreciated the collaboration between the INP Traffic Corps for the driver training. He stated that safety is the company's top priority in providing transportation services.

"This is a pioneering example of private sector collaboration with public institutions. Green SM Indonesia also recognizes that safety is a top priority," he said.
