Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Jakarta expressed its profound appreciation on Sunday for the Indonesian government’s support and President Prabowo Subianto's offer to mediate the escalating conflict between Iran and the United States.
While welcoming the diplomatic gesture, the Embassy urged Indonesian officials to maintain a firm stance against the recent military operations conducted by the U.S. and Israel.
"Iran's hostility with America is not new; it is rooted in seven decades of history, beginning with the 1953 coup," the Embassy said in its official release on Sunday (1/3/2026), following the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and reported strikes on civilian infrastructure, including schools, which resulted in numerous casualties.
The Iranian mission condemned the Saturday morning attacks as a flagrant violation of the UN Charter and international humanitarian law.
