Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has officially implemented Work From Home and Remote Learning policies across the capital starting Friday (23/1/2026).
The directive, effective through 27 January 2026, aims to ensure public safety and alleviate severe traffic congestion caused by extreme weather and widespread flooding.
"I have authorized the Manpower and Education Departments to issue circulars for both employees and students to remain home," Governor Pramono said during a visit to East Jakarta, as cited by antaranews.com
The policy applies to both public and private sectors, including international schools. It follows a rapid expansion of flood zones, with over 125 neighborhoods and 14 major roads currently inundated.
By shifting to remote operations, the Jakarta administration expected to reduce the number of vehicles trapped in flood-prone areas while allowing the Public Works Department to maximize pumping operations. Officials warned that the policy might be extended if the high intensity of rainfall and river overflows persist beyond early next week.
