inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Provincial Government says that the food stock for the 1446 Hijri Ramadan is safe with controlled prices although there are some that will experience price increase.

“We are always making sure and convey to the public that our food stock is safe, which makes the food price can be controlled,” says the Head of Jakarta Food Security, Maritime, and Farm Department, Suharini Eliawati on Thursday (1/16/2025).

The Jakarta Provincial Government through regional apparatus organizations (OPD), Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) in the food sector including Dharma Jaya and PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya and the Food Task Force (Satgas) also routinely monitors food availability and prices.

"Dharma Jaya has ensured that the stock of beef, buffalo and chicken is in a relatively safe condition," said Suharini. Her party usually also cooperates with Bulog in guaranteeing food stocks.

The stock of several food commodities available at BUMD and State-Owned Enterprises in Jakarta as of January 15th, 2024, includes 214,945 tons of rice, 7,399 tons of beef, 765 tons of chicken, 25 tons of chicken eggs, 2,112 tons of granulated sugar and 33 tons of cooking oil.

Suharini said that the amount of egg demand usually increases approaching Ramadan, while approaching Eid al-Fitr, it is the turn of the need for beef to increase.

Even so, she asked the public to shop according to their needs and not hoard for fear of not getting the food they need.
