Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo warned on Thursday (4/12/2025) that peak tidal flooding is expected to hit the capital on Friday morning, based on data from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).
“The peak of the tidal flood will occur on 5 December 2025 at around 9 a.,” he said at City Hall, as reported by antaranews.com.
The governor issued the alert after high tides inundated several coastal areas on Thursday. He said the threat will continue, with another tidal cycle projected in the third week of December and peak rainfall forecast for January 2026.
To reduce risks, Governor Pramono ordered the Water Resources Agency and the Jakarta BPBD to strengthen mitigation measures, including deploying 600 water pumps and reinforcing flood-prone zones in Muara Angke, Marunda, and surrounding coastal communities.
