Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Chairman of the National Economic Council (DEN) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan on Thursday (4/12/2025) denied allegations linking him to ownership or involvement in PT Toba Pulp Lestari (TPL).
“These circulating claims are not true,” his spokesperson Jodi Mahardi said in a written statement quoted by antaranews.com.
He said that Luhut has no ownership, affiliation, or direct or indirect role with TPL, stressing that such claims are unfounded and misleading. Jodi added that Luhut consistently adheres to transparency, ethics, and conflict-of-interest regulations as a state official.
Luhut also encouraged the public to rely on credible information sources and expressed readiness for any verification request. His spokesperson urged caution in sharing unverified claims to prevent misinformation.
The clarification follows renewed public discussion on Luhut’s past statements regarding industrial development in Central Sulawesi’s Morowali, where he recalled Indonesia’s early push for downstreaming and the challenges of securing foreign investment.
