Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police has intensified its patrols to prevent clashes and the circulation of narcotics to ensure security and public order in the capital and surrounding areas.
Brigadier General Suyudi Ario Seto, the Deputy Chief of the Jakarta Police, said the continuous patrols were a measure to maintain peace, prevent clashes and the circulation of drugs in Jakarta.
The Jakarta Police launched a large-scale patrol over the weekend, as a part of the Operation Mantap Brata Jaya 2023-2024, to instill a sense of security among the public ahead of the 2024 elections.
General Suyudi said that the large number of personnel deployed, a combination of the Jakarta Police, the Indonesian Military and the Jakarta administration, was intended to prevent public disorder problems that could arise from small triggers.
Hee said the patrol routes have been divided into two zones: the first zone covers West and South Jakarta, while the second zone covers Central, East and North Jakarta.
"The inspection of vehicles and items such as bags should be supervised by their owners to ensure that any evidence found can be substantiated and held legally accountable," said the Deputy Chief.
