Tourism and Creative Economy Office of Jakarta implores all tourist destination and recreational places to join in celebrating the 2024 Chinese New Year. “Through the Tourism and Creative Economy Office, I implore public spaces such as malls and restaurants to join in this year’s celebration of Chinese New Year,” said the acting governor of Jakarta, Heru Budi Hartono quoted from Antara on Wednesday (2/7/2024), The acting governor says that in celebrating the holidays, it could be through discounts, installing Chinese ornaments, presenting Chinese cultural events and others. Continued by the Acting Governer, the celebration of Chinese New Year is quite different from the other celebrations in the past as this year celebration coincides with the 2024 General Election. Heru claims that the Tourism and Creative Economy Office, and Cultural Office, have prepared various events in celebrating the Chinese New Year Event, such as in Taman Ismail Marzuki. “Well, if it’s from the Tourism Office, it is like what I said, such as in restaurants and malls where we appeal them to also celebrate the Chinese New Year,” said Heru in his conclusion.
