Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Jakarta Transportation Agency will close 32 major roads across the capital during the BTN Jakarta International Marathon (BTN JAKIM) 2025 on Sunday  from 3.30 am to 11.30 am  local time.

“Roads will be blocked using barricades, water barriers, and traffic cones,” said Jakarta Transportation Head Syafrin Liputo on Saturday (28/6/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The closures include roads along Medan Merdeka, MH Thamrin, Sudirman, Imam Bonjol, Rasuna Said, Gatot Subroto, and surrounding areas, as well as key underpasses and routes near Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Stadium.

The marathon, featuring over 30,000 runners from 52 countries, is part of Jakarta’s 498th anniversary celebration and aims to promote the city as an international sports tourism destination.

To accommodate affected passengers, state railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (PT KAI) announced that 11 long-distance trains departing Gambir Station will make an exceptional stop at Jatinegara Station on SUNDAY. These include the Argo Bromo Anggrek, Taksaka, and Parahyangan trains, all departing at 6.20 am.

Authorities urge residents to use alternative routes and public transportation during the event.
