Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia’s Minister for the Protection of Migrant Workers (P2MI), Abdul Kadir Karding, denied reports that Japan is shutting its doors to Indonesian migrant workers following a legal incident involving three Indonesians.
“We’ve coordinated with the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo, and there is no such policy. The rumor is simply false,” he said Wednesday (16/7/2025) in a statement, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The Minister clarified that the three Indonesians in question are not formal migrant workers—one is an intern and the other two were visiting Japan as tourists.
“This has nothing to do with our official migrant placement program,” he emphasized.
Minister Karding urged influencers to act responsibly and avoid spreading unverified information that may jeopardize opportunities for thousands of legitimate workers.
