inp.polri.go.id – President of the Republic of Indonesia Ir. H. Joko Widodo is has departed to China from Soekarno-Hatta Airport Cengkareng on Monday (25/7) at 13.00 WIB.
Jokowi will be the first president to meet President Xi Jinping in Beijing, China in 2022. Jokowi's visit to China is part of a mission to visit East Asian countries to strengthening economic cooperation. Jokowi is also planned to visit Japan and South Korea this week.
"The focus of the visit is to discuss about strengthening economic cooperation, especially in the fields of trade and investment," said the Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi, in a virtual press conference on Thursday (21/7).
"In addition to discussing strengthening bilateral cooperation, President [Jokowi] and the leaders of the three countries, of course, in their respective bilateral meetings, will discuss the latest developments on several regional and international issues," said Retno.
Retno explained that Jokowi's visit to Beijing would be on Tuesday (26/7).
"The visit of the President of the Republic of Indonesia to Beijing will be carried out on July 26, 2022, while to Tokyo on July 27, and to Seoul on July 28, 2022. This visit is a short visit, three days for three countries," he said again.
During his visit to the three countries, Jokowi will meet with various state officials. In China, Jokowi will meet Premier Li Keqiang and President Xi Jinping.
In Japan, Jokowi will meet with Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. While in South Korea, Jokowi will meet President Yoon Seok-yeol.
