Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Following days of persistent rainfall, the Jakarta Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) reported on Sunday (25/1/2026) that floodwaters have successfully receded in most areas, leaving only nine neighborhood units still submerged.
The remaining affected zones are concentrated in East Jakarta’s Bidara Cina and Kampung Melayu areas, as well as one neighborhood in Kapuk Muara, North Jakarta. While levels have dropped significantly, approximately 1,600 p displaced residents remain in temporary shelters.
"We are mobilizing all available personnel to monitor the remaining stagnant water and ensure drainage systems are fully functional to expedite the recovery," said BPBD Data Center Head Mohamad Yohan, as cited by antaranews.com.
Despite the receding waters, police patrols have been increased in the affected districts to ensure the security of evacuated homes. Local authorities are focusing on providing health services and basic supplies to the families remaining in shelters as they wait for their neighborhoods to be cleared of mud and debris.
