The Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (KemenPPPA) offers their condolences for the murder of four children in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, allegedly by their own father. “We are concerned that there are still many violence and inhumane acts to children by their own parents who should have been their own guardian,” says KemenPPPA Deputy of Special Protection for Child, Nahar on Thursday (12/7/2023). The ministry has conveyed their message to South Jakarta Sub-regional Police that the allegation of murder and violence case would be processed in accordance to the existing law. “Our team have coordinated with institutions, organizations, and related parties to ensure that the case would be handled professionally and prevent similar case from happening again,” Nahar said. The case first noticed by the neighbors after a fouls smell came out from the suspect’s rented house. People then immediately report the situation to the police. After a while, police came to the house and found a grim scene as four children were lying dead in the bedroom. Police also found the father who were trying to commit the suicide after allegedly killing his own four children. Currently, the case are being intensively investigated by the police. (ad/ndt/pr/nm)
