The Commander of Indonesian Military Force (TNI), General Agus Subiyanto, and Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo together visited Papua on Friday (12/8/2023). The visit marks the first voyage of General Agus to Papua after his appointment as TNI Commander by President Joko Widodo on November 22nd, 2023. The two chiefs of top Indonesian security institutions arrived in Cenderawasih Regional Military Command at 09.15 am, on Friday (12/8/2023). During the visit, the two generals will hear the security situation report from XVII Cenderawasih Regional Military Commander and Papua Regional Police Chief. The two generals will also provide their order and suggestion to TNI-INP members, government employees in the institutions, and Cenderawasih Regional Military Command assigned forces in a gathering. There will be around 1,424 personnel who will attend the gathering. During the gathering, the TNI Commander and INP Chief will gave their reward to their 10 soldiers, from TNI and INP, who excels in performance. Moreover, the two chiefs will also carry out humanitarian social activities in XVII Cenderawasih Regional Military Command and Jayapura X Main Navy Base. The visit meant to be a strategic maneuver of TNI Commander and INP Chief to improve their cooperation in maintaining security for the 2024 General Election as part of their commitment. The two generals have also planned to involve Bhabinkamtibmas and Babinsa personnel across Indonesia to intensify their patrol, both in Regional Police level to Sub-regional police level.
