Inp.polri.go.id – Paniai. Armed criminal group (KKB) attacked Ndeotadi 99 Police Post in Baya Biru District, Paniai Regency on Wednesday (3/20/2024) around 08.00 am. The group reportedly shoots members guarding the post. “During the incident, two of our members, Second Police Brigadier Arnaldobert and Second Police Brigadier Sandi Defrit killed in action,” says Papua Regional Police Public Relations Chief, Senior Superintendent Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo in his written statement. Benny says the group who allegedly ambushed security officials are those led by Aibon Kogoya. The incident occurred when personnel are securing Helipad 99. “The incident begins when our personnel were securing Helipad 99. Then, suddenly for the east, there was a gunshot which hits two of our personnel. The group also managed to steal two AK-47s,” said the PR Chief. Paniai Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Abdus Syukur Felani says that his party is currently searching the perpetrators. Strict law enforcement will be applied to the shooter or group responsible for the attack. “We will hunt them down for their action. They will be legally processed by our applicable law. On the other hand, we have also improved our security in several locations at Paniai Regency to prevent further assaults,” explained Felani. (ad/ay/pr/nm)
