The Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurates Singkawang Airport in Singkawang City, West Kalimantan on Wednesday (3/20/2024). “On this morning, I officially inaugurate Singkawang Airport in Singkawang City, West Kalimantan Province,” says Jokowi quoted from President Secretary YouTube Channel on Wednesday (3/20/2024). The president says that the construction of the airport costs around IDR 472 billion, with IDR 272 billion comes from the government and IDR 155 comes from private companies. “I express my gratitude as this scheme could be applied in various airports, various projects, various ports. We will continue to accelerate our infrastructure establishment in our beloved country,” explain Jokowi. “The people those cities, those regencies, those provinces are involved in the infrastructure development in their region. That is why, once again, I say thank you to every entrepreneur involved in developing our country,” continued the president. The construction of Singkawang Airport began since 2019 and has an airstrip of 2,000 and a terminal area of 8,000 square meters. With the establishment of the airport, Jokowi hopes it would accelerate the mobility of people and boost the economic growth in Singkawang. (ad/inp/pr/nm)
