Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Monday (19/1/2026) confirmed the arrest of Pati Regent Sudewo in a sting operation, marking the agency’s third hand-catch operation of 2026 in Central Java.
“Correct, one of the parties secured in the sting operation in Pati is SDW,” KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told reporters, as cited by antaranews.com.
He said Sudewo was apprehended on Monday and is currently undergoing intensive questioning at the Kudus Sub-regional Police headquarters, not in Pati. The KPK has 24 hours to determine the legal status of Sudewo and other detainees, in line with the Criminal Procedure Code.
The operation took place in Pati, Central Java, as part of an ongoing corruption investigation, although the alleged graft details have not yet been disclosed. Investigators are now examining evidence and questioning witnesses to establish the suspected criminal act and its motive.
Earlier this year, the KPK conducted two other sting operations involving tax bribery and alleged corruption in regional projects.
