Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named South Kalimantan Governor Sahbirin Noor a suspect in a corruption case involving the provincial administration.

KPK Deputy Chairman Nurul Ghufron announced on Tuesday (8/10/2024) that Sahbirin is suspected of accepting bribes or promises during 2024–2025.

The other suspects include South Kalimantan Head of the Public Works and Housing Agency Ahmad Solhan, South Kalimantan Head of the Cipta Karya Division Yulianti Erlynah, Darussalam Tahfidz House Treasurer Ahmad, and Acting Head of the Governor’s Household, Agustya Febry Andrean, according to antaranews.com.

Two private sector individuals, Sugeng Wahyudi and Andi Susanto, are also implicated in the case.

KPK has detained six suspects, while Sahbirin has not been arrested yet and will be summoned soon.

The suspects are charged under various articles of the Anti-Corruption Law, with potential penalties for accepting bribes or participating in corruption.

The case began with an operation on Sunday, when KPK seized Rp 10 billion and detained six people for corruption related to goods and services procurement within the South Kalimantan administration.
