inp.polri.go.id - Tangerang. The Soekarno-Hatta Airport Sub-regional Police has named seven smugglers of 171,880 lobster seeds (BBL) through the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Cargo Terminal, Tangerang, Banten.
Soekarno-Hatta Airport Sub-regional Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Ronald Sipayung said that of the seven people named as suspects, they have the initials RK, AH, JS, DS, RS, WW, and AN.
"Of the seven people, two of them are officers of the Soetta Airport Cargo Avsec, namely with the initials RK and JS, who are known to have played a role as people who passed the inspection at the Cargo Terminal," he explained in Tangerang, Wednesday (6/10/2025).
He explained that the disclosure of this case began with a public report regarding the loading of goods or suitcases as many as three packages containing lobster seeds through the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Cargo Terminal.
Then, the investigation team immediately followed up on the information by developing it through examination of evidence and CCTV footage which resulted in the arrest of the seven suspects.
"It turned out that out of the four checked suitcases, three suitcases contained BBL. On that basis, the investigators then followed up the BBL findings to a police report," he said.
Ronald said that the 171,880 thousand lobster seeds were intended to be smuggled to Singapore before sending it to the main destination country, namely Vietnam.
In addition, in handling the case, his party is still pursuing five other suspects who are now on the wanted list (DPO).
For their actions, the suspects were charged with Article 29 in conjunction with Article 26 paragraph 1 of Law Number 6 of 2023 concerning the Stipulation of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation into Law and/or Article 88 of Law Number 31 of 2004 concerning Fisheries and Article 87 in conjunction with Article 34 of Law Number 21 of 2019 concerning Animal, Fish, and Plant Quarantine in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 (Criminal Code) with the threat of a maximum prison sentence of 8 years and a fine of IDR 1.5 billion.
