inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Deputy Chairman of the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) Brigadier General Dr. Achmadi, S.H., M.A.P., said that the losses of Binomo and Quotex binary options victims can be returned through a restitution mechanism or compensation using the perpetrator's assets confiscated by law enforcement officials.
"The victims can apply to the LPSK for an assessment of their losses," said the Deputy Chair of the LPSK, Sunday (13/3/22).
Previously, the Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) of the National Police (Polri) had identified Doni Salmanan and Indra Kenz as suspects on several criminal acts related to Binomo and Quotex fraud, including money laundering.
In-Law Number 31 of 2014, it is stated that victims of criminal acts are entitled to restitution and LPSK has the authority to assess the compensation and make it a priority.
"The thing is, we hope that the assets from the crimes committed by the perpetrators can be returned to the victims," said the Deputy Chair of the LPSK.
Deputy Chairman of the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) Brigadier General Dr. Achmadi, S.H., M.A.P., advised the victims who suffered losses to immediately report to Polri to obtain legal status, then the victims could contact the LPSK to apply for restitution.
"We hope that the victims will report their case to the police or LPSK and immediately apply for compensation through the restitution system, of course with the supporting evidence and data," said the Deputy Chair of the LPSK.
Given the legal process has just begun, the opportunity to return the loss to the victims through restitution is still wide open, but the final decision still depends on the judge.
"We hope that investigators and prosecutors can include the victim's restitution application in the prosecution file so that justice for the victim can be realized through a restitution mechanism whose source of their compensation is obtained from the confiscation of the perpetrator's assets," concluded the Deputy Chair of the LPSK.
