Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck off East Seram Regency, Maluku, at approximately 6.15 am on Saturday (1/8/2026). The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) confirmed that the epicenter was located 42 kilometers northwest of East Seram at a depth of 10 kilometers.
Authorities confirmed the tectonic tremor triggered no tsunami risk across the surrounding coastal areas.
