inp.polri.go.id - Sangatta. The Medical and Health Unit of the East Kutai Sub-regional Police held a food safety inspection of the MBG (Free Nutritious Meals) menu distributed to thousands of beneficiaries. The inspection took place at the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) of the East Kutai Sub-regional Police.
The team, led by Brigadier Ibrahim, conducted a series of inspections before the food was distributed to students and other beneficiaries. The inspections were comprehensive, from chemical testing to organoleptic testing to ensure the food served was safe, healthy, and met consumption standards.
In the chemical testing, officers ensured the food was free of hazardous substances such as cyanide, formalin, borax, arsenic, and nitrite. Meanwhile, in the organoleptic testing, the team examined the food's appearance, color, odor, and taste.
A total of 1,335 beneficiaries received MBG services that day, including students from SDN 011 Sangatta Utara, SDN 015 Sangatta Utara, Kemala Bhayangkari Kindergarten, teachers, and Integrated Service Post participants.
East Kutai Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Fauzan Arianto, emphasized that food quality monitoring is a crucial part of the success of the MBG program, which aims to improve the health and nutrition of the community, especially school-age children.
"Every food item distributed must undergo a strict inspection process. We want to ensure that all beneficiaries receive safe, healthy, nutritious, and edible food so that the program's objectives are truly achieved," said Fauzan on Wednesday (6/3/2026).
Fauzan revealed that Medical and Health Unit involvement in conducting routine supervision is a form of his force’s commitment to supporting government programs while also providing food security guarantees for the community.
