Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Investigators from the Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police have arrested a wanted fugitive in an online gambling case involving a Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs employee.
The suspect was arrested early Friday (15/11/2024)at a hotel in South Jakarta.
“At 00:15 am on Friday, we arrested one of the suspects on the wanted list, identified as HE,” said Metro Jaya Police Head of Public Relations Senior Superintendent Ade Ary Syam.
HE is known to be the operator of the gambling site Keris123 and had acted as an intermediary to find alternative sites to avoid Komdigi’s blocking efforts.
“This evasion was facilitated by suspect MN, who is already in custody,” added Chief Ade Ary, as quoted by antaranews.com.
HE’s network reportedly managed thousands of online gambling sites, with a set monthly protection fee ranging from Rp 23 million to Rp 24 million per site.
Authorities are pursuing six other suspects linked to HE’s network: A alias M, HF, J, BS, BK, and B.
