Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Wamildan Tsani Panjaitan, previously Acting CEO at PT Lion Air, has officially been named CEO of PT Garuda Indonesia during an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) held at the Garuda Management Building, Tangerang, Banten, on Friday (15/11/2024).
The meeting was attended by shareholders representing 68.58 billion shares, equating to 74.97% of total shareholders. The key agenda was the restructuring of the company’s management.
Wamildan replaces Irfan Setiaputra, who led Garuda Indonesia since January 2020. Following the EGMS, Fadjar Prasetyo was confirmed as President Commissioner and Independent Commissioner, with Chairal Tanjung, Timur Sukirno, and Glenny Kairupan joining the board.
Wamildan expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him, promising to enhance the company’s performance.
“I am committed to a comprehensive financial and operational review to strengthen Garuda Indonesia’s position as a national pride,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Wamildan previously served as Acting CEO of Lion Air since 2022 and has an extensive background in aviation, including roles at Batik Air and the Indonesian Air Force.
