inp.polri.go.id – Metro Jaya Police uncovered a syndicate of plundering 12 kilogram LPG gas cylinders in the Jakarta, Depok, Tangerang, South Tangerang, and Bekasi areas and managed to secure 16 people as suspects. Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Endra Zulpan said, the case investigation begun with nine police reports received in July and August 2022. Police officers found a location that was used as a warehouse for storing subsidized gas and found a place to inject 12 kilograms LPG gas cylinders illegally to be sold below the market price. "A total of 16 suspects were arrested. They consist of the owner, the one who injects the gas, and employees," said Commissioner Endra Zulpan at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters, Friday (02/09/22). From the disclosure of the case, police officers confiscated 1,795 LPG gas cylinders ranging from 3 kilograms and 12 kilograms Metro Jaya Police also found and confiscate gas injectors into tubes and a number of vehicles for distribution to consumers. For this crime, the 16 suspects were charged with Article 40 point 9 of Law (UU) Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation and subject to Article 55 of Law Number 22 of 2003 concerning Oil and Gas, and Article 62 Paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 8 Paragraph (1) letters b and c of Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection. The perpetrator was also charged with the Article on Legal Metrology for the alleged injection of subsidized gas.
