Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Karyoto, has urged Eid Al-Fitr travelers to avoid prolonged stops at highway rest areas to prevent congestion.
“If you need to take a break, do so briefly—don’t overstay,” he said while inspecting a security and service post at Rest Area KM 39A on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road on Saturday (22/3/2025).
Overcrowded rest areas can cause bottlenecks, reducing a four- or five-lane highway to just one or two lanes, ultimately leading to severe traffic congestion, he said, as reported by antaranews.com.
During his visit, Chief Karyoto also assessed the preparation of security officers and medical teams.
As of Saturday, traffic conditions remained smooth, but authorities will continue monitoring to ensure an efficient flow.
