Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police are set to roll out “Operation Zebra” next week to improve traffic order ahead of the Christmas and New Year holidays, the Metro Jaya Police’s Traffic Directorate announced on Thursday (13/11/2025).
“Starting Monday, we will conduct Operation Zebra as a preemptive measure for the upcoming holidays,” said Metro Jaya Police’s Traffic Director Senior Superintendent Komarudin. “This operation is part of our effort to create safer roads and reduce visible traffic violations.”
The nationwide operation, running until 30 December 2025, will focus on common offenses such as failure to wear helmets, the use of illegal exhausts, and other visible violations, according to antaranews.com
Unlike traditional stationary checkpoints, the police will apply a “hunting system,” meaning officers will patrol actively to identify and respond to infractions in real time.
Chief Komarudin added that the approach aims to balance firmness with public education, using either verbal warnings or fines depending on the severity of the violation.
