Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto plans to issue another round of amnesty, abolition, and rehabilitation for selected convicts, Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Correctional Affairs Yusril Ihza Mahendra announced on Thursday (13/11/2025).
“Amnesty and abolition will be granted to individuals under investigation, prosecution, or serving sentences, as well as those who have completed their punishment but deserve rehabilitation,” he said after chairing a ministerial meeting in Jakarta, as reported by antaranews.com.
Minister Yusril explained that the new clemency package follows the earlier granting of amnesty to 1,178 people and abolition for one individual. The policy aims to uphold humanitarian values, justice, and national reconciliation.
The meeting involved multiple agencies, including the Attorney General’s Office and the Indonesian National Police. Proposed beneficiaries include minor narcotics offenders, non-violent treason suspects, and those convicted under the Information and Electronic Transaction (ITE) Law for insulting state leaders.
