Inp.polri.go.id - Semarang. Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia confirmed on Thursday (26/3/2026) that Indonesia’s fuel and LPG supplies remain secure, even as the escalating conflict between the U.S. and Iran destabilizes global energy markets.

"Despite the global impact, our domestic supply of gasoline, diesel, and LPG is well-fulfilled," he said during an inspection in Central Java.

Addressing concerns over the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which traditionally handles 20% of Indonesia’s crude oil imports, Minister Bahlil revealed that the government has secured alternative supply sources.

National oil reserves are currently maintained at a 21–28 day safety margin, supported by optimized domestic refinery operations that continuously replenish stocks as they are distributed.

The minister’s assurance comes as neighboring Philippines officially declared a national state of emergency due to severe energy supply disruptions. While regional tensions escalated following the February 28 strikes on Iran, Indonesia’s proactive shift away from Persian Gulf dependency has allowed the nation to maintain stability while other Asian economies face rising fuel costs and shortages.
