Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Erick Thohir confirmed that the Ministry will serve as both supervisor and advisor to Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund Danantara Indonesia, following the enactment of Law No. 1/2025 which redefines the management of state-owned companies.
“Our focus is on accompanying Danantara, while also acting as regulator and shareholder,” he said after a hearing at the House of Representatives (DPR) on Tuesday (8/7/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
As the holder of Series A shares, the Ministry will continue overseeing key matters such as appointments of directors and commissioners, shareholder meetings, and strategic proposals, he said.
Danantara, he added, is not authorized to directly appoint leadership in SOEs but may offer recommendations. The Ministry also receives a 1% dividend from Danantara, which will be returned to the state.
Minister Erick addressed concerns over a Danantara circular freezing leadership changes before 30 June 2025, citing the need for financial reporting stability amid frequent uncoordinated reshuffles to strengthen healthy SOEs and ensure global competitiveness,
