Inp.polri.go.id - Badung.  Coordinating Minister of Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Hadi Tjahjanto has called on the Indonesian National Police Chief and the Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander not to impose a tour of duty for officials in the regions during the 2024 local elections.

The call aims to ensure that local TNI and INP officials can manage election security with the allocated budget and plans. 

“We need to manage the planned budget efficiently,” Minister Hadi said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

He also urged the Attorney General's Office not to impose a tour of duty of its staff, including regional prosecutors office heads, to ensure effective handling of the law enforcement coordination cente).

The central government has provided funds to local administrations for regional election-related needs, including polling places, the General Election Commission (KPU) and the General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) offices, and voting stations. Hadi emphasized that these funds will support TNI and INP in election security tasks, from securing polling stations to overseeing campaigns and logistics distribution.
