Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs  has confirmed that Indonesian citizens in Lebanon are safe despite the escalating conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.

"Communication is ongoing to monitor the condition of our citizens. They are currently safe, calm, and well," said Judha Nugraha, the Director of Indonesian Citizen Protection at the Foreign Ministry, on Tuesday (30/7/2024)/

According to the Indonesian Embassy in Beirut, there are 203 Indonesian citizens residing in Lebanon and around 1,232 Indonesian troops serving in UNIFIL.

Indonesians are advised to stay alert and consider leaving Lebanon if possible, although commercial flights are operational, as reported by antaranews.com.

Those in southern Lebanon are urged to seek refuge at the Indonesian Embassy in Beirut Safe House. Of the 14 Indonesians in the area, some have opted to remain at home, assessing the situation as relatively safe.

Indonesians facing emergencies can contact the KBRI Beirut hotline at +961 7081 7310.

The conflict intensified following a rocket attack on the Golan Heights that killed 12 people, with Israel accusing Hezbollah, which the group denies.
