The Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) Bintang Puspayoga said she was concerned with the case of a mother that tried to murder her own children in Brebes, which caused one of them to be dead and the other two with heavy injury. Since the case surged in media, Bintang and her party immediately coordinated with the Office of Women's Empowerment, Child Protection and Population Control (DP3AKB) and the Central Java Province SPT PPA. "We continue to monitor and follow up on this case that concerned us all. We will also ensure that the victims received their treatment and oversee their legal process. Our appreciation goes to all parties who have responded quickly in handling this case," said Minister Bintang as quoted from the official website of the ministry, Monday (21/3/2022). Furthermore, Minister Bintang emphasized that the law still must be enforced even though the perpetrator is the victim's biological mother. "This case should be resolved with a sociological juridical approach that puts forward an understanding of the conditions in the field to find the facts that are the background of why this happened," she explained. Previously it was reported that a mother named Kunti Utami (35), a resident of Tonjong Village, Tonjong District, Brebes, was arrested after attempting to murder her three children, which caused one of them died and two others were rushed to the hospital due to cuts on Sunday (20/3/2022).
